While in Cojímar, Cuba, I spoke with a fisherman. Our conversation centered on politics and Cuban-American relations. He told me that whether you are part of the head of the lion or the tail of a mouse, you are important. Every person matters.

The day that we left Cuba was the day that President Obama landed. We were all stuck in the one room at José Martí International Airport as it shut down in preparation for the arrival of Air Force One. When the planes touched down, the reaction was huge. People cheered and ran back and forth between windows and television to try to catch a glimpse of Obama.
